2010 Goals

Ok, so what can I do to be better in 2010 than 2009 (or any previous year)? Here's my current thoughts.

1. Be healthier and in better shape
2. Work smarter (which is going to be necessary to make #1 a reality)
3. Learn snowboard tricks
4. Golf consistently in 80's

Let's see how it goes.

Work Smarter Goals

Now, how to work smarter? I need some specific goals in order to make this happen:

  • don't check email when I get to the office - work on something productive
  • set some blackberry limits - no blackberry from when I get home until after 9pm
  • spend more time with managment team and less time on email
  • set aside the time each day to exercise

Jan 3

I actually kept up the streak today (wow - three days!) and ran for 40 minutes on the treadmill. Also did a good stretch - need to remember to protect my knee. Still to be added is some weight work and core work. Especially lunges to prep for Vermont snowboarding! Hopefully losing some weight will make the boarding easier on the legs.

I also have started the better eating and have so far avoided sugar, dairy and wheat. Just cutting out drinks and sweets should make a big difference.

Jan 2

Jan 2 - 40 minutes run and some weights. healthy breakfast and lunch. Hopefully this is the kick-off for better living.

Jan 1 - a great day of snowboarding at Talisman in fabulous conditions.


Dec 31- New Years Eve - a blow out on drinks and food. No exercise - hopefully the last of the 'old' way.

Dec 30 - two hours + of boarding at Chicopee - conditions really good. No other exercise. Still eating lots of cookies and treats.

Dec 29 - Hockey - only 9 guys out so a good skate and a couple goals. Many drinks afterwards with Nose/Bruce/Jimmy.
